SA’S OWN BOTTOMLESS COFFEE BAND BECOME AMBASSADORS FOR COMMUNITY CONSERVATION FUND AFRICA

A bit of levity during tough times appears to us in the form of South African, foot-stomping rhythm-makers, Bottomless Coffee Band being picked as Community Conservation Fund Africa’s (CCFA) guardians of a cardinal conservation message.

At a gig up in the Eastern Cape last year, Bottomless Coffee Band were met with a probing question regarding the role musicians play in conservation. Curiosity inspired them to write a song in aid of the Community Conservation Fund Africa: “Wilderness”. And this musical moral sparked a partnership between the band and the not-for-profit global initiative.

Officially released last Friday, the single is an influential note to society paired with a compelling music video by Homebrew films which showcases Este and Lourens stomping out the message in hard-hitting dramatic rhythms.

The video is an eye-opening deep dive into the world as it could become. Climate wars rage, pandemics claim lives, and animals are poached onto the endangered list for fallible medicinal remedies.

The couple’s folksy finesse fuels the call to action for the greater environmental and conservation crisis we’re facing.

“In this chaotic time of a worldwide pandemic, we are even more aware of the synergy between this planet and its humans; that we have to look after our environment for our environment to look after us,” they say.

Share to care and download to donate! Bottomless Coffee Band and Fairview are also working together. Fairview will donate R1.00 to the CCFA for every music video share. A portion of sales of the song will also be donated to the CCFA for conservation.
