Projects
Through careful selection of projects and implementation partners CCFA draws on the “best in class” knowledge from scientists, economists, and African communities in conservation areas. The Fund partners with local NGOs and internationally successful wildlife conservation organisations to collaborate on initiatives that form part of our legacy rewilding project. Our goal is to create a conservation legacy through projects that protect the environment and wildlife through partnerships where communities participate in and benefit from conservation.
Legacy Projects
CCFA endorses and supports the conservation programme at Nyosi Wildlife Reserve in the biodiversity-rich Eastern Cape of South Africa.
This is an ambitious project to restore this urban pocket of biodiversity with community partnerships being central to the approach.
The conservation approach encompasses:
- Care of the land and ecosystems
- Social upliftment and community projects
- Preserving wildlife and biodiversity

Nyosi Conservation Program
Aligned with our rewilding principles, conservation icon Dr Ian Player identified Nyosi as the “new wilderness frontier”. Being the first big game wildlife reserve situated within two major urban centres, we have embraced the unique opportunity to restore the ecology, biodiversity and cultural heritage of this landscape through an integrated approach towards a conservation economy. The Nyosi Conservation Progamme encompasses our long-term Greening the Community and Youth Development initiatives, with further initiatives set to commence with the return of iconic wildlife species.
